2010: Day 7: Thee Parkside

The All-City Crew took our shenanigans to Thee Parkside in the Potrero, San Francisco's Premier Dive Venue, and by no means does "dive" connote inferiority. Thee Parkside is a no B.S. venue for stiff drinks, tasty beers, and superb munchies and if you're on a budget like I am, then Parkside is the place to be. Conveniently located across the street from Jackson Playground, Parkside is a great bar to settle bragging rights from the winners and the losers for many ball games played across the street.

Parkside has an excellent Happy Hour Monday through Friday from 2-8pm, Wow! Day 7's Daily Specials included $3 Drafts (except Guinness), $3 Well Drinks, $4 Margarita pints, and my favorite $1 Olympia cans (10 please!). By no means does the list stop there either. Other Drink Specials are the Parkside Manhattan, the infamous Jager Bomb, and the Blue Collar Special, a PBR and a shot of Beam. Just what a blue collar man needs at the end of the day! And, if you're only a beer sippa, not to worry Parkside has a wide-range of beers that'll satisfy any beer connoisseur's fix for hops, and I don't mean heroine!

The Parkside sports a stage for live bands and DJ performances, an outside patio that rocks, and a kitchen that serves a variety of appetizing bar food, including items for the vegetarians and vegans alike until 10pm. Parkside is a CASH Bar (yes Fuk off IRS) with an ATM inside.

All-City shout-outs to Chelsea and Ed, our wonderful bartenders, Mark the "Chef," Pauline, Murrell aka "Stallion" peep him out at http://www.esquirebvi.com/, Renny, Jay Dolla, Phil, Ian, Mike, Barack Jr., Sco-Dizzle, Stretch Vet, and last but definitely not least Rally Oh...23 more days to go playas!!!

Check Parkside's website for hours of operation and performance info. If you enjoy Thee Parkside, check out its counterpart Pop's @ 22nd and York Street.

2010: Day 6: Lush Lounge

Lush Lounge was the perfect spot to hit on a Sunday evening. This place got way bigger. (Old location was on the corner of Polk and Sutter) Very nice upgrade! You can’t beat the “All Day Specials” every Sunday and Monday. $2.00 Tecate or PBR, $3.00 Sycamore Lane Wine, $4.00 Champagne, $5.00 Lemon Drop or Margarita. They also serve Sex and the City Cosmos. Are you listening ladies? With these kind of drinks, it’s gonna bring in a good mix of people. Cheap too! Blame it on the economy, everyone is on a budget!

Barry, my Jamison slinger for the night was very friendly and easy to talk to. I’ll have to try the baby coconut milk as the new hang-over treatment. Thanks for the tip Barry! Special thanks to Chris for my extra bonus shot on my way out the door. Day 6: DONE

It’s that time again…

“Romper, bomper, stomper boo. Tell me, tell me, tell me, do. Magic Mirror, tell me today, have all my friends had fun at play?

Shots out to: Lisa, George, Sudir, Billy, Pauline, Dave, Angel, Shirley, Chelsea Bridget, Kristin, Able and Mr. Ian… Day 6, you are coming along.

Eat right, drink lots of fluids, and if a stranger gives you candy…. Follow that fucker, because you know he’s got more. See you next time! -rallyoh

2010: Day 5: Tunnel Top

Debauchery: (N) A wild gathering involving excessive drinking and promiscuity. i.e. Why wait until evening when you can participate in daytime debauchery.

The Tunnel Top was off the hook to say the least. DJ Tin One kept giving us non stop classics. As the drinks flowed and flowed and flowed Tin kept spinning the hits. Then, like a scene from Michael Jackson's Thriller, we all, simultaneously, erupted in dance. Early on in the evening I twisted my ankle, on some clumsy shit, so do mind the stairs. Tunnel Top has two levels, graffiti soaked bathrooms, and a lot of class. They have a small menu of specialty drinks. Their is only one word to describe them, Fruity. I stuck to the beer, and being in the debaucherous spirit I had some Jameson (YUM). The young lady who was a major factor in the evenings may lay was Emily, bartender extraordinaire. She is officially my new favorite bartender ( Oh magical Goddess of Jameson, I will do what ever you say.....). Ya, she was really cool. For those of you who know how to locate it, the Tunnel Top is only two blocks from Union Square, and one block from China Town. The prices where right, and it was a great time. DJ Tin is there on Saturdays only.

 DJ Tin:  djtinone@gmail.com

 Emily has a band, please check her out http://www.thebotsband.com/ , www.myspace.com/thebotsband .

Of course; last but not least, big big big thank yous go out to the All City Crew. We can do this. And extra special thank yous to all the faithful that have been coming out night after night. We love you and we appreciate the support. See you tonight at Lush Lounge on Polk st.

2010: Day 4: Eve

The All City crew and their loyal supporters were at it again as they finished off the first week of debauchery, south of Market street, at Eve. Eve has a great new school flavor and an ambiance that is tough to fabricate. There is ample lounge seating along the far wall, plenty of room at the bar for pimps to spit their game and pop their collars, provocative art lining the walls overhead, and a happy hour that jumps off every evening from 5pm-8pm.

Actually, this is one of the best deals in the city if you ask me…a beer and a shot costs a whopping five dollars, shots of Jameson are two dollars off, there are a plethora of specialty mixed drinks to consume and enjoy, and a DJ spinning great beats all night long. Life can’t get any better than that…can it? Jason and Misty were our mixologists for the evening and they did a phenomenal job keeping our glasses full and wallets far from empty.
Although the evening began a bit earlier than originally planned the crew did not skip a beat as they rocked steady and closed the night down in their typical debaucherous fashion.

A big All City shout out goes to Clark, Dave, Ian, Miles, Jen, Shikeena, Joe, Savoeurn, Pete, Spicy, Rally-oh, Tee, Dchan, Sam, San Poncho Libre, and anyone else that came out to Eve to help support the cause. The project wouldn’t be what it is...if you all were not a part of it.
Come join the crew for Day #5 @Tunnel Top around 8pm. See you at the party beezies!!!!

2010: Day 3: Butter

Despite overcast weather conditions in SF, the month of June is already scorching. Day three and the All City cast is still going strong. Thursday night at Butter went exactly the way the bar's name suggest, smooth.

Located in SOMA, the relic feel of good ol' America and the pastimes of cars, drinking and Rock n' Roll reverberated throughout the place. Known to have its share of stiff drinks and party-goers, Butter offers a variety of drink concoctions, and a weekly happy hour special (6-9pm) with dollar-off drinks, it was sure to be a recipe for another awesome night.

The night began with an RV (Redbull and Vodka) and without delay was given a heaping of freshly made popcorn to go with it. Peeping a bit of the NBA Finals and who promptly shows up to get down is birthday boy and All City's honorary member Basil. That moment was the start of it all, participants and other members began trickling in filling the bar space. At one point Basil was serenaded with songs of "Happy Birthday" and a deep-fried-chocolate-covered-twinkie complimentary of the house that put the icing on the cake.

Our mixologists Jay and Kevin took care of us all throughout the night. The drinks were made nice and stiff livening up the times. Other mentionable drinks are a Tang-tini (Tang martini), a shot of beer topped-off with Barcardi Lemon and lastly was the infamous Jello shots and boy did they hit. If fair prices, good people and tasty drinks is what you dig, get to Butter.

Having a kitchen with a trailer like facade, Butter serves a bunch of finger-foods and good ol grub all night. A one-stop spot for you debauchedness needs. With an "U" shaped bar, for max capacity, 2 wall projectors, and plenty of bar stools the place is a sure visit spot to enjoy with friends. Nothing fancy but it down right works. Thumbs up!

All you lovely people who came out supported, showed-love and kick it with us, thank you! You are what makes these nights memorable and keep the momentum moving on to the next one.

Much love to the everyone who showed up and I was reluctant to do this but this is ALL CITY and you're in city limits, so here we go. Big ups Romper room style, I see Sonia, Basil, Pauline, Joe, Melissa, Monica, Katie, Natasha, Tiffany, Jack, Anessa, Anne, Pearl, Teresa, Jamie, Erin, Ruth, Kareem, Mike, Moni, Ian, Rob, Fouad, Dennis, Kevin & Jay and anyone else who escaped role-call.

Again a big thank you to all the lovely ladies who partook of the evening's debauchery and the fellas who's been holding it down alongside us!

2010: Day 2: Skylark

Day 2 started off good, with the S.F. Giants whooping on the Colorado Rockies at AT&T Park. That was proceeded with day 2 of 30 @ Skylark on 16th Street and Valencia. It was Mixtape Wednesday hosted by Jamal and Patrick with tunes spun by Troy aka DJ Strategy. Big shot out to you guys for another awesome party, and whasup Jose, didn't forget you!

The night started on the chill tip, the quiet before the storm, and boy did it storm as the night progressed. With schools and the colleges out for summa break, Mixtape Wednesday had all the ingredients for ABR, "All Bad Records," or "Another Bad Rap," and when I mean "bad," it's not bad meaning bad but bad meaning good! The honeys and the playas we're out in full effect like Juicy!

Skylark sports a huge full bar with practically anything one may thirst for or to outright get straight faded with. There is even a Mixtape Drink Special menu that includes drinks as Sved Bull (Premium vodka on Red Bull), Juan on Juan (the Mexican Bromance, inquire within), and the Slamstedam (Harlem the Dutch Treat chilled up and not down). So if your in the neighborhood stop by and give them a try.

We would like to thank Kelani, Julie, Aaron, Dave, Clark, Brandi, Chelsea, Angel, Jenny, A!$*r, Christian, Jake, Ed, Hanna, Angelica, Schivonne, Tony, Danielle, Ian, Jay Dolla and everyone else I might of been too swerved to rememba! A special Big-Up to Peter our head bartender who actually worked his last night @ the Lark. The "30 Day" crew wishes you well and all the best on your journeys in Kenya, Africa! For the rest of ya'll, we'll see you at the next spot!

2010: Day 1: Minx

Yes! Yes! Yes! Day one of the 30 days of Debauchery was more than what we were expecting. It was a Tuesday night; Tuesdays are usually slow. For the folks to come out to show us support on our first night was awesome. We kicked off this night (the first of many…) at Minx because this is the bar where the whole thought of the 30 day project was born. Minx is located on Sutter and Jones. I can tell you about the well stiff drinks, the old school furniture, the bartender that reminds me of my cousin Marcos, where the hell is Alice Cooper, is this the old Red Room, the various board games under the table, why do the animals keep looking at me, who the hell is San Pancho Libre...yeah, I could tell you that. Bottom line is this…if you are on Sutter Street on a Tuesday night, stop by the Minx and have a drink or two. You’re gonna dig this spot. Tell them RallyOh sent ya!

Phil the bartender, you fucking rock Man! Thank you again for the hospitality and your willingness to help the 30 days of debauchery get off to a strong start! I can’t wait to see you and Marcos @ the Residence.

Special guest appearance: John Alito from “Taking back the City” show. With his camera in hand, he took a couple of videos and got some information on the 30 day project. Very Cool. John will check back with us in a couple of weeks.

Before I say good bye….

“Romper, bomper, stomper boo. Tell me, tell me, tell me, do. Magic Mirror, tell me today, have all my friends had fun at play? I see Rabi and Sonya and Fouad and Roxy (She’s the bomb) and Joe and Sarah. Hey Guys! I see Ian and Jenny and John and J-9 (Get your Oh face on…) and Lance and Phil. How ya doing? And I can’t forget the All City Allstars: Stretch, Barack Jr., sCo-D, Sucka Freezie. You guys are the best. And all of you boys and girls out there.... See you next time! -rallyoh
