Day 24: Elephant & Castle

The All-City Project crew is on fire after closing down the Show Down the night before. Day 24 of debauchery brings us to Elephant & Castle in the Financial District of the city. E&C is an English-style pub whose name was derived from Royal scandal and gossip dating back to the 14th century when Charles I was betrothed to a Spanish princess from Castille. The name originates from the first Elephant & Castle in London where it still operates to this day.

As visitors and residents were piling into the city for "Pride" weekend, everyone wanted a big bang for the buck! E&C did not disappoint! The food is great here, may I recommend their famous fish n' chips or deliciously well-made Shepard's pie. Either way if you're around the way come into this beautifully decorated English pub and have a cold beer or a cocktail and enjoy some great pub grub. You can catch sports games that are televised on one of the many flat HD T.V.'s or play some pool in the back room. I had numerous shots of Jameson whiskey, several pints of Boddington's ale, and at least 1 shot, that I remember of Jagermeister. The monster in me comes out when I drink Jager, good thing he didn't come out! phew!

The E&C staff was great and they took care of the All-City crew! Big thank yous to the Manager, Ian aka Munter, and our shot-slingers Daniel and Tara! You guys rock hard! Day 20: Friends Bar

Wow! What a night, what a night, what a night! I've been closing down way too many spots on this debaucherous campaign trail. I must say though, that it's as fun as it looks! Coming off a blazin' a$$ weekend of debauchery, the ACP crew nestled into a local neighborhood bar called Friends Bar. Located at 558 Monterey Blvd. in the back of San Francisco City College, Friends is a nice cozy watering hole for the neighborhood locals and the ACP crew alike.

There's a couple of televisions for the sports enthusiast, an Internet jukebox, a pool and Foosball table, couple of comfy couches and a nice fire place for them cold nights. Friends even has a nice back patio when you want a change in scenery. They even serve a variety of bar fare like burgers, hot doggies, polish dogs, beer brats and popcorn. You have everything you need for a good night of drinking, no wonder Friends is the "neighborhood's finest hangout"!

Our shot-slinger and bartender for the evening was Rudy, Howie Mandel's twin brother! Rudy is a good dude, thanks for the friendly hospitality, you rock man! And yes, we're a little crazy for the 30 DOD project but I've accepted that already! I definitely can't forget the entrancing Miss Evelyn, whose the owner/operator of this enjoyable establishment. Thanks again dear for a lovely night, Toronto in the house!!!

Friends is a full bar that serves up a nice variety of beers on tap and in the bottle, some selections of vino and even champagne, you fancy huh?! The thing better than the drink selection is the price. You can have a great time and get your fix without breaking your wallet, I can dig that anytime! If you're in the neighborhood pop on in, I'll definitely come back to Friends, it's a great place to meet new friends...with benefits!

Day 14: The Ambassador

The fact that I feel like a horrible train wreck the day after means that the All City crew, especially me had a grandiose time at The Ambassador. This is another gem in the rough of San Francisco, located in the Tenderloin and it was a must that the 30 Days of Debauchery come and party here. Every Tuesday is $2 Tuesday, from 6 PM- 12AM $2 beers, $2 wine, $2 well drinks, and $2 plates of food are offered. Hey what more do I hafta say...? But I just began...Tuesday Day 14 of 30 began just as well, with what I called the unofficial welcoming of summer in the SFC! The temperature was just right, the skirts were out and the flowers were blooming.

Tuesdays are one of the most fun nights and also one of the busiest, so arriving early was a must! Aside from the great Tuesday deal, The Ambassador is a nice mix between a bar, lounge, and a club where traditional and swank are perfectly blended in the stylish decor of this establishment. There is also a Mezzanine that over looks the whole place with its own bar and restroom. On those not-so-busy evenings, The Ambassador is perfect for a social hour drink after work, a nice easy cocktail with some grub, or a nice place to bring a date.

Our bartenders for the night were Sasha and the home-girl Bethel, whose hot in a Uma Thurman kinda way! Cheers to y'all and thanks for a great night! Even though is was busy from the beginning, they were fabulous to the ACP crew serving up everything to little live Joe to a hell if I know, what everyone was drinking. Our buddy DJ Fox was also in the house spinning beats for the night. The people were beautiful with the exception of a few, and the vibes were right. It felt like I was partying in a club in Las Vegas at one point!

We had a very good turn out and I want to give a big All City shout out to the following: Monica, Maureen, Chris, Janelle, Lindsey, Layla, Jamille, Melissa, Chevon, Dave, Mark S., Jesse, Miguel, Kyle, Xena, Dara, Grant and not to mention the ACP crew; Barack Jr., Sco-D, Stretch Vet, RallyOh, and E*Fizzle!!! We are some real muthaf*@kin' Rock Stars!!!

Day 7: Dimples

The first week of debauchery went by quickly with the finish line 3 weeks outta sight. Day 7 brought us to a perfect spot, Dimples in Japan Town. It's a rather small dingy dive bar where you go downstairs essentially under ground-level. Once you make it down, you are met with an oasis of beer, spirits (both good and bad ones), wine, soju, karaoke booths and a mechanical CD jukebox with Korean love songs and classic oldies but goodies, can I hear that Elvis joint again?

When the ACP crew arrived it was fairly early for the night so the freaks were not out yet (maybe in the back though), however we were entertained by Dallas beating Miami in the NBA Finals. We started off with our usual drinks, a shot of Jameson and a Sierra Nevada to get settled in. The drink prices are stiffer than the drinks themselves at $8 a shot and $10 for less than 32 oz of OB beer. Our bartenderess was a Korean "Mama-San" named "Helen" and according to her it was her second day on the job. E*Fizzle came in and ordered a Mai Tai and "Helen" was perplexed by his request. It turned out she forgot the ingredients for the drink, but the look on her face was priceless.

This Korean ran establishment is also known for their extra-curricular services in which I cannot confirm or deny, however I will set the scene for you and you can put the pieces together. So as the evening progressed, I couldn't help but notice these young attractive Asian women suddenly appearing in this rather confined place. The funny thing is that you can see via surveillance cameras everyone that comes through the entrance, but I didn't see these young ladies coming through the front. I wasn't tripping because I heard the "rumors" and read reviews, why do you think it's on the debauchery trail, wink wink! So this one O.G. Japanese guy who was at the bar drinking was feeling frisky with "Helen" suddenly slipped away unbeknownst to us, and not through the front entrance either because anyone leaving would have had to pass by the group before exiting and that wasn't the case. Then we noticed one of the girls just vanishing into thin air and a couple other ones grace us with their presence, as to where they went or how they got there blows my other mind, literally...wink wink! ;)

Anyway, if you want to grab some $$$ drinks but watch a really good human appearing and disappearing show, or if you want to magically disappear for a few hours in "heavenly bliss," come check out Dimples you won't be disappointed! Bring cash and don't use your credit or debit card, you might get in trouble with the wifey!

Day 3: Mars Bar

Oh no here we go again! The All City Playas hit the pave burning rubber! Day 3's adventure brings us to Mars Bar located 798 Brannan St. @ 7th Street in S.F.'s SOMA District. "Mars Bar" is back! After a couple of owners and name changes, the Mars Bar I remember is back!

Mars has Happy Hour Mon. - Fri. 3-7 PM and a kitchen that serves up a delicious menu from typical bar food to scrumptious salads, soups and pasta, to individual pizza pies. Stop in for lunch and try one of their Daily Lunch Specials. They even have $2 Taco Tuesdays and $2 Tecate beer all night long.

Mars caters to a nice after-work social hour crowd with a pool table, an internet jukebox, a couple of flat screens showing our dearly beloved Giants beating the Rockies. You can enjoy a drink at the bar or at one of the tables, or even outside on the gas heated patio. As the evening progresses the second shift of party people started coming out, from the pre-club partiers, the birthday peeps, and the folks that just wanted to get another dose of debauchery. Guest DJ's were also in the house to spin a variety of music for our listening pleasure.



Our bartender Paul kept the drinks flowing and suddenly that ugly girl on the other side of the bar appeared more and more bash-able, did I do that?! Thanks a lot Paul! The ACP crew wants to give a big birthday shout out to our buddy Basil, thank you for celebrating with us. All in all the night was awesome!

It's getting close to that time, ah yes, the 2nd annual "All City Project: 30 Days of Debauchery!"

Come this June 2011, ACP will be swinging the debauchery in full effect. We, yet again, will be adventuring out to 30 NEW bars in 30 days throughout the whole month of June in the city of San Francisco.

This time with a bit of a make-over to add to the festive social experiment, ACP have crafted new and clever interactive entertainment for your debaucherous pleasure.

2010: Day 28: Pilsner Inn

2010: Coming off a weekend where SF Pride celebrated forty-years of diversity with a massive parade and festival, All City Project was not far behind. Monday night ACP celebrated day 28 in the Castro, yes, you heard right in the Castro. After all, All City would not be all city if we didn't hit San Francisco's infamous Castro.

Pilsner Inn, located at 225 Church St, is a goulash of pro-sports, patio, pinatas and penguins (how's that alliteration). The place is very spacious both inside and out. It has a very comfy back patio that goes great in the summer heat. Along with the layout, PI has 24 beers on draft that are eclectic as the Pride flag that hangs. Some notable drafts are the Boonville (amber ale), Hell or High Watermelon (wheat), Fat Tire, Chimay, Boddingtons, Ace Perry, Stock Top and of course (hey) Big Daddy. In addition to the taps there are many other bottle beers that I'm sure one can find a niche for. Pilsner Inn, does not have a Happy Hour, instead they hosts all day daily specials (that switches day to day) which is fantastic because you can show up when you show up.

Our bartender for the night was Mike (you rock!!). He was nice, knowledgeable and attentive to ACP's copious drinking abilities. Although, I did not have any cocktails, Mike makes a mean margarita for those who dare to take the taste test. Prices are fair and the service do you justice. If you're looking for a good time, want to meet interesting people and have some drinks visit Pilsner Inn.

PI has many activities and games to keep you occupied and drinking. They boast a pool table, 2 flat-screens for your sporting needs, 3 pinball machines, a few other misc. games, a digital jukebox and my favorite Cali Lotto. The best thing off all is that they provide condoms for the promiscuousness in all of us. Thanks PI for the jimmies!!!! Muahahahah!!!

A big thank you to all those who showed up and kick it with ACP! 2010: Day 23: Dirty Thieves

If you dig whiskey, scotch, bourbon, tasty beers and cheap cocktails then Dirty Thieves is the place to be. Located on the corner at 3050 24th Street between Lucky St. and Treat Ave. you're in for a Lucky Treat! Dirty Thieves is one installment of the "Thieves" Trilogy in San Francisco. If you enjoy Dirty Thieves, check out her sisters, Thieves Tavern and Whiskey Thieves. Dirty Thieves is a CASH ONLY bar (and yes fuk off again IRS) but not to fret, there is an ATM on location.

Dirty Thieves is a cozy watering-hole nestled on the corner of 24th St. and Treat Ave. This is a place for the after-work drink for many white-collared workers and the Mission's ever growing population of Hipsters, do I smell regentrification? In the words of the homie Jen, three words to describe Dirty Thieves, "Not the Same." I took that to be a positive thing knowing how grimey and unsavory 24th Street was and how it could be, present tense. There definitely was a good vibe with a nice cool crowd chillin' at Dirty for Day 23 of the All City Project: 30Days of Debauchery. Dirty has a cool jukebox that has a wide-range of song selections to please any one's ear holes, cool art work hanging around for visual stimulation, and a pool table to rack and cue. I found Dirty to be pretty spacious for a bar with ample seating including comfy booths for the faint-on-the-feet.

On our first shift, our mixologist was Jessica. She is a cool chick! Thanks darling! There was a Happy Hour from Noon until 8pm with $3 Well Drinks and $7 Shot and Beer combo. Do I smell more Jameson, hint, hint! On our second shift we had the cool homie Oliver and the lovely Lauren. Thanks guys, you rock hard too! And boy did the beers and liquor follow! Oh boy!!!

The ACPC had another great turn-out and many of us were contemplating what are we going to do once the "30 days" are up? "They try to make me go to rehab, I said no no no! I won't go oh oh!" I mean after the detox and travel plans in July? I guess it has to be the retox and a reunion, however drinking at a bar will not be the same after the 30 Day Project, it's going to be tough to top this experience! Well the ACPC has one final week to go, so check us out on twitter or the blogspot to check where we'll be. And for those ain't wit it, eat a d!ck!!! But for those that are wit it sing that sh!t! 2010: Day 21: The AVE

If you think because it was a Monday, the All City Project was going to relent just a bit, think again! Yall trippin,' there is no stopping! Last night ACP, doing the damn thang at the AVE. For yall that don't know, ya'll gonna find out!

Located at 1607 Ocean Ave, in the the Lakeview district, the Avenue Crew (ACP) ironically happen to be taking the debauchery to the AVE for day twenty-one. The AVE is far from your ordinary neighborhood bar. In a place that coins their jukebox "Home of the Freshest Jukebox in Frisco," there is no going wrong. The place is as vibrant and lively as the characters that you'll find frequenting the spot.

The AVE, offers a cozy and relaxing atmosphere to unwind after a long day on the clock. With two flat-screens and a projector, the place prides itself on many of the sporting events that are going on. Drinks specials are offered during The World Cup with $2 Trumer and $2 Tecate. For your MLB games they offer $3 draft beers long as there is a baseball game going on in addition, to the daily Happy Hour from 3-7pm, with $1 off well drinks and a menu list of special shots for $3. Oh, and they also offer wine tasting events 4-7pm for the wine drinkers (inquire within). Can you say drink specials galore?

Our mixologist for the night was John, you rock (shots out to Evansville)! He was very friendly and definitely has passion for his mixing abilities and knowledge of liquors. Along with the jukebox, cozy feel and a cool bartender the night was a perfect beginning to yet another week of debauchery.

The uniqueness of the AVE is built-up from the locals and their regulars. That's why its not your typical bar plus, how many places do you

know that you can pick up a game of bones (dominoes) or a game of spades with folks you've just met? If you're looking for great drink specials, a chill spot and a crackin' jukebox with everything from RBL Posse to Orange Juice Jone and a whole lot in between go visit the AVE. 2010: Day 19: Tommy's Joynt

Tommy's Joynt is a San Francisco classic, opened in 1947 this Hofbrau has been serving up great meals and drinks at great prices. It's a "Must Go"place to eat and drink for natives, transplants, and visitors alike. Located at 1101 Geary Boulevard Tommy's Joynt brings the "Joy" in their "Joynt"! Visit the website tommysjoynt.com and they can tell you everything I'm not. Lord forbid I get accused of plagiarism.

Tommy's Joynt serves homemade dishes of roast beef, turkey, corned beef, spare ribs, to buffalo stew and then some. There's even their unique daily menu. It boasts nearly 200 different beers from around the world, very impressive list! At this full bar a "Tommy's Joynt Irish Coffee" is the House Special and it can get you FUBAR'd. The beer on tap are nicely priced at $2.75 for a half pint and $4.50 for a pint. There are scores of beers in the bottle too and of course the ever seemingly endless flow of liquor, namely Jameson. Shots...shots...shots...shots....shots!!! Ain't that right Roxanna?! Tommy's Joynt is a CASH ONLY establishment (Yes fuk off IRS!) but not to worry, there is definitely an ATM on the premises.

So cutting to brass tacks, coming off the DPG at the Rock It Room the All City Project Crew (ACPC) attempted, and I stress attempted to come down from the multitude of drinks and something in the air the night before. Day 19 at Tommy's Joynt, wasn't going to happen either! Good thing there's yummy food literally feet from the bar. We started easy, but ended up going hard! Go hard!!! Yea, yea, yea, yea, yeah! Day 19 did not disappoint. The ACPC had a lovely turn out of some old and new family, friends, and friends of friends. Thank you all for coming out and showing love to the All City Project: 30 Days of Debauchery! With that being said I will call roll; Jess, Karim, Stan, Ben, Mark, Tricia, Clark, Jen, Sara, Basil, Joe, Fouad, Rob, Pauline, Roxanna, Marie, Ian, Sco-D, Rally:oh, Stretch Vet, and Mr. Barack Jr himself. So after the wonderful time at Tommy's Joynt the remaining ACPC headed down the street to Element Lounge where we caught some beats and basically drank some more. We ran into a fellow Wash-House Eagle named Mike who was our bottle-slinger. Thanks for the drinks brah! Whasup "Bullet" keep doing yo thang Uso!
