2010: Day 16: Broken Record

Broken Record is located on the Geneva between the Outer Mission and Excelsior districts.  When I heard  this was a whiskey bar, I knew I wanted to check this place out.  Broken Record has been in business for 3 years and they are celebrating their anniversary this Friday. ($2 Firstone and Rotating Whiskey Specials) Check it out!

Liz was our bartender for the evening and she was very knowledgeable on the vast selection of Whiskey on hand.  My first shot was John L Sullivan.  John L. Sullivan was the last Bare-Knuckle Boxing Heavyweight Champion.  In 1889, he defended his title in a historic 75 round fight!   It was a smooth Irish whiskey shot with a hint of oak and Vanilla. A great tribute to to the Irish icon.

We also had a Kentucky Whiskey called Four Roses.  This had more of a spicy kick to it. But the best part was, they had this stuff on TAP!  Yes, whiskey on TAP.  That was a first for me. Who does this... Broken Record does!

The other cool this about Broken Record was the kitchen and patio in the back.  They have some great food on the menu and they don't close til 11pm (10pm on Sundays).  These guys had everything from Pulled Pork Sandwiches, a Beef & Bacon burger with the bacon inside the beef, baked Mac and Cheese, Fritter Sandwich and Mini Sundays!  Perfect because I was hungry.  And it doesn't matter where you are in the bar, They will bring the food to you.  Thanks to James, Shane, Bret, and Ali!  Check them our too, because you know you wanna eat!  I'll be back guys....

On my way out I also got to meet James the owner.  Thank you for letting the Debauchery feel at home.  I'm sure this will not be the last time.  Great place, James Cheers!

For a Wednesday, this was a good night.  Shots out to the All City Project crew, the scary thing is this might be getting to easy.  16 days done, 16 day left.  It's like butter baby!

Right on to Jah, Phill, Dave, Mike, Kelani, and Brandon for coming out!  I can't forget the true supporter of the debauchery, Ian.  He's got 16 days under his belt and I think he's official.

Next stop.... Yancy's.  See you in the middle, HoooRahhhh!

My name is Rally Oh and I approve this post!
